KAT VANCLEAVE
Kat VanCleave is a New York-based film director and artist who builds immersive cinematic universes for the weirdos, the black sheep, and the psychological outliers. A visual architect by trade, she utilizes an interior architecture background to direct space, atmosphere, and performance as a single narrative force.
Her extensive career includes shaping the visual landscapes of over 40 films and series for networks such as HBO, Netflix, and Apple TV. As a director, her original work blends meticulous structural design with raw, off-kilter character studies that examine the vulnerabilities of the inner psyche.
Driven by a commitment to independent cinema, she operates her production banner, Rainbow Pirates!, and funds GURL GRANT—a biannual film grant dedicated to elevating female and non-binary directors.
